Grass is greener on my side


Tamat peperiksaan kertas terakhir hari Rabu itu saya bersenang-senang di Central Library, kemudian bergegas ke Restoran Ning di tengah bandar Manchester. Kami punya tetamu hari ini, sekumpulan 30 pemimpin pelajar dari 19 IPTA di Malaysia, datang berkunjung ke Manchester setelah dua malam di London. Wakil Malaysian Student Society of Manchester (MSSM) menemani mereka untuk program sebelah pagi, tengahari itu kesemua wakil daripada Kelab Umno Salford & Manchester (KUSMA), dan Malaysian Community of Old Trafford (MCOT) turut serta untuk menyambut kehadiran mereka. Petangnya ber’barbeku’ (ayam yang siap dimasak di kedai pun!) di Platts Field, terus mereka dibawa ke kediaman-kediaman pelajar Manchester untuk bermalam (rumah saya juga).

Tidak banyak yang kami bincangkan bersama malam itu, barangkali semuanya keletihan.

And I, I was a bit disappointed.

They were not as what I expected them to be. Full stop.

Though people keep saying that grass is always greener on others’ side, I know for sure that mine is the greenest of all.
